What do Berry’s Farm have in common with The Royal Albert Hall? No this isn’t the setup for a joke!
Since it’s opening by Queen Victoria in 1871, The Royal Albert Hall was plagued with echo issues, but it wasn’t until 1969 that the acoustic issue was solved with the installation of fiberglass acoustic diffusing discs on the ceiling.
At Berry’s Farm we also had an issue with an echo in our Café, so we solved it in a very similar way! Those of you who have visited our Café may have noticed the clouds hanging from our ceiling. Aside from being wonderful decoration and conversation pieces they actually serve the very practical purpose of balancing the acoustics in the Café. So there you have it, Berry’s (rather tenuous) link to The Royal Albert Hall!
