Redmire Force is a multi-drop waterfall on the River Ure a couple of miles downstream of the popular Aysgarth Falls. Indeed it is in many ways like a more modest version of Aysgarth Falls but with the advantage of being much quieter in terms of visitor numbers.

Aysgarth Falls have attracted visitors for over 200 years; Ruskin, Turner and Wordsworth visited, all enthusing about the falls’ outstanding beauty. The upper and middle fall was featured in the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

The Fox & Hounds Pub

The Fox is a friendly and welcoming family-run pub situated on the main A684 road through Wensleydale, in the shadow of Penhill. Dogs and children are welcome.
